  • Parc La Croisée community storage project and support

    Prior to our park renovation in 2016, most neighbors agreed that our community storage shed will allow us to….

    • Centralize and increase the assets belonging to our community for events ;

    …and…

    • Facilitate the organization of our community events, meetings and other recreational initiatives;
    • Enhance our recreational capabilities, supporting health, cooperative friendship, community solidarity and our youth volunteers.

  • Our Community Bike and Neighbours Day was great!

    Our Community Bike and Neighbours Day was great!

         On June 9th, the weather was perfect for neighbours to gather in our 5th annual Community Bike and Neighbours Day in Parc de la Croisee. It was a great day for family fun and neighbours to relax and catch up with one another. And like all our community events, it was simply born by ideas supported by neighbours and volunteers.

         Our community offers thanks to many generous and encouraging local sponsors and supporters for this event: City of Gatineau, Velo-Service, Mobi-O, Gatineau Police Department, Boston Pizza, Bicyclettes de Hull, Cosmic Adventures, Provigo Grocery (école culinaire), The General Store, Nectar des dieux and Head to Toe Massage.

         Thanks, once again, to Joseph Mouaikel (nieghbour) and Moe Atallah (Ottawa guest) who offered and prepared wonderful food at our event.

        Our community also greatly appreciated the visits by our special guests, Mr. Greg Fergus (Federal Liberal MP), Mr. André Fortin and family (Quebec Liberal MNA and Minister of Transport) and our local City of Gatineau Councillor, Mr. Mike Duggan.

    A special thanks also goes to Velo-Service and the Gatineau Police Department for their street safety support and education initiatives with children regarding bicycle safety and maintenance.

        Thanks, once again, to Angela Hager (Co-ordinator) and Melanie Brassard (Street Representative) who led coordination of this event, along with Community Association planning, advertising, and material support.

        Thank you, also, to all the volunteers who contributed to this event in so many ways. In particular, Jean-Philippe Richard (Association Treasurer), Lyne Forget-Lanthier, Mary Saghbini, Chad Butler, Joelle Cleroux, Emma Orawiec, Gaston Gagnon, Raymond Gagné, Tania Lambert, Jamie Hager, Halina Hager, Kevin Turcotte, Josee Sisson, Amelia (and Amelia’s friend), Amelie Brassard, Gaston Gagnon, and Tracy McCulloch. (There may be others who have volunteered spontaneously at the event – if your name is missing, please let us know.)

  • It was an afternoon of fun!

    It was an afternoon of fun!

    On Saturday June 17th, despite the non perfect weather, neighbours gathered together in Parc la Croisée to express their community spirit at this year’s annual Neighbours Day event.
    Young and old alike, gathered in the park to fraternize with old friends, make new ones, enjoy music, games, a good BBQ and more! It was an afternoon of fun, laughter, and comradeship.

    A special thank you to Joseph Mouaikel, a resident of the community of La Croisée, and Moe Atallah who offered and prepared wonderful food at our event.

    In addition, many thanks to all the volunteers who made this event possible: Anna McGuire, Louis Martinet, Charles Martinet, Angela and Warren Hager, Halina, Jamie and Jack Hagar, Josée Sisson, Lisa Sattler, Allana Hayes, Sean Stevenson, Lyne Forget-Lanthier, Sylvie Lefebvre, Mike Girouard and Ronan Bosch.

  • La Croisée – learning road safety and having fun, too!

    La Croisée – learning road safety and having fun, too!

    After having to postpone due to bad weather, many neighbours, friends, and organisations came together for our 4th Annual Community Bike Day on Saturday May 20th.

    This year, more organisations joined our event but once again, Velo-Service provided guidance on bicycle maintenance. The Gatineau Police Bike Patrol division provided lessons on riding safety while the Director of Mobio-O, Jean-Maxime Lemerise, was present and offered his support. Our event was also registered with United Nations Global Road Safety Week– 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland who provided a lot of information on shared, global initiatives about road safety.
