On Saturday, June 11th, many families in La Croisee came together for our annual Neighbours Day, despite the threat of bad weather.<\/p>\n
We are all grateful for the sense of community spirit behind it.
\nLike an Amish barn raising, neighbours and friends build our events by offering a small amount of their time in which ever way they can help.
\nFrom transportation, electricity and set-up, barbecue, music, salads, baking, games, donated prizes, accounting, translations, advertising and more, it is all brought – 100% – by community volunteers.<\/p>\n
The $1:00 fee paid by families at the registration tent helped make this event truly “non-profit”, “revenue neutral” with more possibilities for the future.<\/p>\n
A special thank you to our neighbour, Angela Hager, for leading this event co-ordination this year, despite the constraints of time and budget. Thanks, Angela!
\nAnd, of course, this event would not be possible, (for real!) – without all the community volunteers and local businesses who offered their support!<\/p>\n
