A special thanks to all the community residents who agree and support this ongoing shared
initiative. The Emile‐Zola Community Association have joined the Champlain Park and La Croisée
Community Associations to calm traffic in our neighbourhoods with “Slow Down” lawn signs.

It is unfortunate that the Easter Egg Hunt event was cancelled this year due to lack of volunteers, but it will be back next year. Families who signed up have been contacted. Remember, our venue is invaluable.
Looking back, our community accomplished some incredible things in a very short time. None of this would have been possible without the neighbors who volunteered to make it all happen. They simply offered a little time (“generosity”), skills, or material support (“gifts”) in whatever way they could. That’s how it all came about and continues to grow because we are lucky enough to have good people.
Explanations about the structure will follow a little later, but for now, it is important to remember that we are all neighbors and volunteers.
Four more events are planned and supported this year:
Community Garage Sale – Saturday June 1st
Journée du vélo et des Fêtes des voisins – samedi le 8 juin
Épluchette de blé d’inde et AGA – samedi le 21 septembre
Noël communautaire – Samedi le 7 décembre
Improved notices will be provided. In the meantime, if you see or hear a call for volunteers, your response is what could make the events possible and the community around us even better. Everyone is welcome
At an Advisory Committee meeting on November 14th, the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) released it’s “Complementary study for the realization of a structuring TC system in the West. Work plan and consultation steps.” It is available in our Document Library – here. (Unfortunately, it is only available in French.)
This program will effect the travel and commuting ability of all our community residents.
The vision of the program is to “put in place a structuring public transit system that will meet the short, medium and long-term needs of residents of the west of Gatineau, improve the quality of life of citizens, contribute to economic and social development, and promote mobility in the context of the Gatineau-Ottawa metropolitan area.”
The La Croisée Community Association is a member of the Advisory Committee (Associative community). We prefer to only speak on behalf of the community following concensus. Therefore, La Croisée residents are invited to submit their views and comments regarding this study in a brief survey – here.
