    International Volunteer Day -2022

    Ville de Gatineau - Volunteers

“On this International Volunteer Day, the Service des loisirs, des sports et du développement des communautés and the Service des arts, de la culture et des lettres of Gatineau would like to highlight the invaluable contribution of volunteers.
A host of activities, services and resources would not exist without all of Gatineau’s volunteer strength. Many of you offer your time, expertise, passion and efforts to make Gatineau an active, sporty, supportive, festive, cultural and lively city.

Regardless of your field of activity, you help improve the quality of life of Gatineau residents. In addition to making our city more dynamic by offering a wide range of services to the population, you are attentive to the needs of various neighbours.

We would like to express our gratitude for your commitment, your dedication and your desire to make Gatineau a great place to live, where people help each other, meet, create and get active together.
On behalf of all the members of our staff, but also for all the people in your community who benefit from your generous involvement, we thank you!”

    International Volunteers Day – December 5th, 2021

    LaCroisee-Volunteer

On this International Volunteers Day, there is heart felt gratitude for so many neighbours who volunteer their invaluable contribution to our community.

Through our non-profit administration, our community events, and many other community initiatives – these would not be possible without the shared dedication, willingness to meet, create and help one another by offering a small amount of time and gifts of ability, together.

So many neighbours make La Croisée a great place to live and we are certain that post-pandemic, better days are ahead.

    Thank you so much, volunteers!

The La Croisee Community Association is a “Partner” with the Ville de Gatineau.
(And the Ville de Gatineau also says – Thank you – Volunteers!)

  • Good news for our events and community storage shed.

Good news for our events and community storage shed.

We have good news for future community events in the park and we’ve improved our community storage shed.

    Simplified electrical supply for events:

With the help and support from the City of Gatineau, we now have an easy to access power supply to use for our future community events in the park. (without the need of a transformer box – like in the past.)

Easier access to just “plug and play”.
We have improved the protection of our community storage shed:

This November, Gouttières Régional installed gutters on our community storage shed. This will help prevent water damage to the foundation and siding in the future.
Neighbours donated over $480.00 towards the project and Gouttières Régional generously installed additional gutter guards for us.

  • La Croisée Community Survey

    La Croisée Community Survey

Last December, Richcraft provided an overview of their preliminary La Croisée Master Plan to members of the La Croisée Community Association.  This extraordinary offering was gratefully appreciated by all who attended.

In the short-term plan, soon the golf course may be expanded in the eastern sector. There will also be a new primary school for 650 children at the end to rue du Golf and a new high-density, rental apartment development on rue de la Croisée.

    Impasse du Tertre

    La Croisee -Impasse du Tertre

The future Impasse du Tertre is in the current woodland adjacent to the Aylmer Police station located between rue de la Croisée and chemin d’Aylmer.

Preliminary planning concepts include between 100 and 140 rental housing units sub-divided into several 2 story, flat roofed buildings. The exit/entrance to this complex will on rue de la Croisée. The access to public transportation on Chemin d’Aylmer will remain similar in one form or another. This development may soon be submitted to the City for approval.

The purpose of this survey is to gather a reflection of thoughts and consensus amongst neighbours in La Croisée regarding this future development of Impasse du Tertre. The survey link is below and, thank you, for taking just a few minutes for this.
